Jesse Ford named Fisher College Head Women’s Basketball Coach

Director of Athletics Catherine Courtney announced on Friday, January 26, 2018 the hiring of Jesse Ford as the Head Women’s Basketball coach.  Ford enters the new role after serving as the Interim Head Coach since November of 2017.

Over the past four seasons, Ford has been a part of the men’s basketball program as the assistant coach and currently the Associate Head Coach.  At the conclusion of the season, Ford will step down as the Associate Head Coach on the men’s side and focus on the women’s program.

Prior to Fisher, Coach Ford brings with him four years of coaching experience, including three at the Division 1 level. During the 2013-14 season, Ford worked as a Graduate Assistant for the University of Idaho Men’s Basketball program (finished 5th in the WAC and 2nd in the WAC tournament). At Idaho, Ford assisted in all aspects of coaching duties, including individual workouts and game film exchange.

 

Additionally, he spent the 2012-13 season as an Assistant Varsity Boys’ Basketball Coach at Genesee High School in Genesee, Idaho.  As an undergraduate at the University of Idaho, he spent two seasons (2008-09 and 2009-10) as an undergraduate Student Assistant for the University of Idaho Women’s Basketball program.

Jesse is a native to the state of Idaho. He earned a Master’s of Science degree in Sport Psychology from the University of Idaho and currently resides in Boston, MA.
