WVU Tech Director of Athletics Kenneth Howell has announced the hiring of Roger Hodge as head coach of the women’s basketball program.
A native of Summers County, West Virginia, Hodge was most recently the head women’s basketball coach at the College of Coastal Georgia.
Under his leadership, the Coastal Georgia team was the Sun Conference Runner-up in 2019 with 21 wins and holds the school record for all-time wins.
“We are beyond excited to formally announce the appointment of Roger Hodge as our new women’s basketball coach. The opportunity to get someone with Coach Hodge’s experience and quality track record, doesn’t come around often. While previous success and quality programs are a given when you look at Roger’s history, the fact WVU Tech gets to bring him back home to Southern WV, makes this even sweeter,” said Howell. “We are confident in Coach Hodge’s ability to build on our successes over the last decade, and compete for RSC and National Championship opportunities each season. It’s obvious our student-athletes are in good hands.”
A press conference and meet-and-greet with Coach Hodge is currently being scheduled for August 2, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the WVU Tech Barrett-Kelley Hall of Fame.
