Athletic Director Keith O’Connor has named Rose Haller as the new Centenary University Women’s Basketball Coach.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Rose Haller as our new Head Women’s Basketball coach at Centenary University” said Athletic Director Keith O’Connor. “Rose possess many leadership qualities along with a history of success in college athletics. I am confident she will be able to build on the programs past successes and work with our student-athletes to help guide them to an even greater future.”
Haller comes to Centenary after eight successful seasons at Pocono Mountain East High School, where she guided the Cardinals to two Mountain Division Championships and qualified for the district tournament five times.
Haller will return to the sidelines in college after coaching ten seasons at her alma mater, East Stroudsburg University from 1991-2001. She coached the Warriors to two NCAA tournament appearances (1993-94, 1994-95) and one PSAC Championship (1994-95). Haller was also named PSAC Coach of the Year three times and was named the Division II, District II Coach of the Year in 1994-95.
As a player at ESU, Haller scored 1,050 points and dished out 365 assists, while setting single season records in points (410) and assists (147). During the 1984-85 season, she helped the Warriors to a PSAC Championship and was named the Most Valuable Player.
