George Washington Women’s Basketball Adds Kasey Chambers as Graduate Assistant

George Washington women’s basketball head coach Jennifer Rizzotti has rounded out her coaching staff for the 2017-18 season with the addition of Kasey Chambers as a Graduate Assistant.

Chambers was a two-year captain and starting point guard for the University of Pennsylvania from 2014-16 and helped guide the Quakers to back-to-back Ivy League Championships. She started all 59 games she played in while at Penn and averaged 6.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

A native of Belmar, New Jersey, she was the 2016-17 recipient of the Athletic Impact Award while at Penn, as well as the George H. Frazier Award for the student-athlete with the highest GPA.

“We couldn’t ask for a better role model for our student-athletes than Kasey Chambers,” said Rizzotti. “She is proof that you can go to college and excel at the highest level both on the court and in the classroom. She was a leader and a champion at Penn and I look forward to having her share her experiences with our players.”

Prior to Penn, Chambers played for two seasons at Monmouth University and appeared in 63 games over two seasons. She was a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team in 2013-14.

She played scholastically at St. Rose High School where she won a state title as a senior and was a two-time all-county honoree as well as the Jersey Sporting News Female Basketball Player of the Year in 2011-12.
