George Mason women’s basketball head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis has announced the promotion of Demetria Frank to Associate Head Coach.
“Watching Demetria grow into the leader she is today has been one of the greatest joys of my coaching career,” said Blair-Lewis. “Her loyalty, work ethic, servant leadership, and dedication have touched every part of our program. She is truly one of the best young coaches in the business, and this promotion to Associate Head Coach is a testament to the heart she pours into every player, every practice, and every moment.”
A native of Miami, Fla., Frank joined Blair-Lewis’ coaching staff at Bethune-Cookman University in 2017-18 after playing for her from 2007-12. She graduated as the program’s second all-time leader in scoring with 1,567. She holds the Wildcats’ record for career free throws and steals, and tied for 25th most on the all-time NCAA Division 1 career list.
Coming to George Mason with Blair-Lewis in 2021, Frank has helped turn the George Mason women’s basketball into a championship program. In 2024, Frank was selected to attend the inaugural Next Up Coaches Conference, which helps “young minority men’s and women’s basketball coaches gain opportunities to advance their careers.”
