Flynn Named Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Stevens Institute of Technology

Stevens Institute of Technology Head Women’s Basketball Coach Megan Haughey announced the hiring of Tara Flynn as the new Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach.

Flynn played the last four seasons at Adelphi University as a guard, tallying 493 points over 113 games played. During her senior in 2015-16, she averaged 6.5 points per game, and set an Adelphi school-record with seven three-pointers made in a contest against American International on February 28. Flynn was a member of the Northeast-10 Conference Academic Honor Roll in all eight semesters of her collegiate career.

Prior to her time at Adelphi, she starred at Bayonne High School. Selected as Honorable Mention All-State during her junior and senior years, the guard led the Bees to three straight conference championships. A member of the National Honor Society, Flynn graduated in the top five percent of her class.

For the past three summers, Flynn served as a director of the United Basketball Camp based out of North Hunterdon, N.J. This summer, she added coaching responsibilites, serving as both a Head and Assistant Coach with the United Basketball AAU team.
