Fay ’18 Returns as Quinnipiac Women’s Basketball Assistant Coach

Quinnipiac women’s basketball head coach Tricia Fabbri has announced that Jen Fay ’18 has returned to the program as an assistant coach.

Fay recently spent the 2019-20 season as a graduate assistant coach with the Bobcats after spending five seasons with the program.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jen to the staff as a full-time assistant,” Fabbri said. “She was an important part of our recent success and we are excited to have her passion, energy, expertise and input return to the court and sideline!”

In her Quinnipiac career, Fay was one of the most decorated players in MAAC History as she was a five-time MAAC Regular Season Champion and four-time MAAC Tournament Champion. Fay also helped lead the Bobcats to four NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 Appearance in 2016-17 and the Bobcats won three NCAA Tournament games in her time with the program.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to return home to Quinnipiac in a new role and continue to build on the winning culture Coach Fabbri has established over the years,” Fay said.

Individually, Fay was a three-time All-MAAC selection, including her spot on the First Team in 2017-18, as well as a two-time MAAC Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Fay also stood out in the classroom as a four-time MAAC All-Academic Team pick.

She ranks 16th in program history and 10th in Division I program history with 1,277 points and is eighth in program history with 146 three-point field goals. She has also played in 133 games in her career, just two behind Aryn McClure ’19 and Adily Martucci ’17 for the most in program history.

Fay averaged over 10 points per game in each of her final three seasons with the Bobcats, leading Quinnipiac in scoring from 2016-19. Her best season came in 2017-18 when she was named to the All-MAAC First Team when she averaged a team-leading 13.3 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game and 2.2 assists per game as she started all 34 games.

As a senior in 2018-19, Fay averaged 12.5 points per game and a career-high 6.8 rebounds per game to lead the Bobcats, as well as a career-high 2.7 assists per game.

Fay graduated from Quinnipiac with her Bachelor of Arts in History in May 2018 and completed her Masters of Arts in Teaching in Secondary Education in May 2020.
