DIII DIRT: Ivy League Assistant headed to Wheaton College (MA) as new Head Women’s Basketball Coach

I have heard from a great source that Brown University assistant Sara Binkhorst will be named as the new head women’s basketball coach at Wheaton College (MA). She will replace Melissa Hodgdon who resigned back in April after 16 seasons at the helm.

Binkhorst has been an assistant at Brown for the past four seasons. She played Bowdoin College (ME) where she was tabbed as the New England Women’s Basketball Association’s (NEWBA) Player of the Year in 2014-15 after averaging 14.4 points and 3.1 assists per game in leading the Polar Bears to the Sweet Sixteen of the Division III NCAA Tournament.

An official announcement is expected in the next few days.
