Pioneer Athletics is glad to announce the hiring of Sean Williams as the new Head Women’s Basketball Coach. Sean moves to the head role of the Delta Lady Pioneers staff after two seasons (2017-2019) as the Associate Head Coach of the program. Sean aided in the women’s program past two winning season, finishing the 2018-2019 seasn ranked fifth in the conference with a 9-7 conference record. He takes charge with over 22 years of past coaching experience including 15 at the Varsity level. Williams graduated from Loyola University where he was a member of the Men’s Basketball Team. Sean was named the 2001-02 Coach of the Year in the Greater Thumb Conference. He won a District and Regional Crown while serving as Head Women’s Varsity Coach at Nouvel Catholic Central High School. While coaching high school he had the honor of sending more than 10 players on to play at the collegiate level. Sean currently sits on the Cardinal Advisory Board, Cardinal Cabaret Steering Committee and is the Vice President of the Saginaw Travelers Golf Club. He was awarded the 2009 Richard J Garber Service Award along with the 2009 Saginaw Valley African-American Leadership Training Institute. Pioneer athletics is excited about the programs future under the direction of Coach Williams.
