Colgate Women’s Basketball Head Coach Resigns

The Colgate University Department of Athletics announced on April 8, 2021, that William Cleary has resigned from his position as head women’s basketball coach.
 
“We thank Coach Cleary for his service to our university and department,” said Colgate Vice President and Director of Athletics Nicki Moore. “We wish him the very best moving forward.”
 
In five seasons as head coach of the Raiders, Cleary was 49-79, finishing the 2019-20 season with a 19-11 record. Three student-athletes earned All-Patriot League honors during Cleary’s tenure. Colgate’s women’s basketball student-athletes excelled in the classroom, including a 100 percent graduation rate and perfect NCAA APR scores of 1,000. 
 
A national search for a successor begins immediately.
