Chloe Wanink Joins University of Mary Staff

A four-year all-conference performer at NCAA Division I Wofford College, Chloe Wanink joins the University of Mary women’s basketball team as an assistant coach.

Wanink, a three-year captain for the Terriers, led the Southern Conference in scoring as a Junior while averaging 21.0 ppg. The 2019-20 SoCon Preseason Player of the Year as a senior, Wanick was named to the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard watchlist. She finished the season leading the Terriers in scoring with 16.0 ppg and ranked third in the nation in three-point shooting by converting 47.4% from behind the arc.

“We are extremely excited to have Chloe Wanink join our staff as a Graduate Assistant,” said University of Mary Head Women’s Basketball Coach Rick Neumann. “Chloe had an accomplished career at NCAA Division I Wofford. She will handle a multitude of administrative duties while also mentoring our point guards. Being from Wisconsin is a major bonus for us, as that is an area we recruit heavily.”

Wanink is from Cameron, WI, and earned a psychology and sociology degree at Wofford. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in mental health counseling at the University of Mary.

“I am very thankful to Coach Neumann for offering me the graduate assistant position at UMary,” Wanink said. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to be around basketball and I cannot wait to get to work with the team!”
