Bri Hill Elevated to Head Women’s Basketball Coach at The Apprentice School

The Apprentice School Athletic Department is pleased to announce that Bri Hill has been elevated to Head Women’s Basketball Coach.  A 2016 graduate of ASchool, Hill took over as interim coach mid-season this past winter amidst some adverse circumstances.

In early January with a record of 2-9, only five players remaining on the roster, and the odds of finishing the season in question, a coaching change was made. Hill stepped in and rallied the Lady Builders to stick together and commit to finishing the season. The team proceeded to win two of their first four games with only five players, playing some inspiring basketball where the entire ASchool community rallied around the team. Shortly after that the team was able to add two walk-ons to help provide depth to close out the season that concluded with an EMAC Tournament Runner-Up finish. Overall, under Hills’s guidance, the Lady Builders finished 6-7, leaving them with an overall record of 8-17.

Builder Athletic Director Michael W. Allen stated, “We are extremely excited that Bri has decided to remain on board as our permanent Head Women’s Basketball Coach. She stepped up in a big way when the program was at a low point. She rolled up her sleeves, was all in from day one and did an amazing job building trust with our players from our first team meeting. She brings instant credibility as someone who has “walked in their boots”, knows how to hold them accountable and will love on them at the same time. Bri is extremely intentional is supporting the true mission of ASchool and Builder Athletics and I am excited to help her grow as a coach.”

Bri Hill was asked what it meant to take over the reins of her alma mater. She quickly stated, “To whom much is given, much will be required. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity to lead, coach, & mentor these young women while playing the game we love! I am looking forward to the 2020-21 season as Head Coach of THE Apprentice School…NO PRESSURE!”
