Shannon Brady, an All-American and a New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Year, is a new assistant coach for the Colby College women’s basketball program.
Brady, a 2016 Bowdoin College graduate, helped the Polar Bears to three straight NCAA appearances from 2014 to 2016.
“Shannon’s experience as both a top player and student in the NESCAC allows her to understand the dedication that our student-athletes commit themselves to everyday,” said Brittany Gaetano, Colby’s first-year head coach. “I am confident that Shannon’s character, coupled with her enthusiasm for helping others reach their potential, will have a very positive impact on the success of our student-athletes, both on and off the court.”
Brady, a native of Scituate, Mass., was a three-time all-conference selection after earning NESCAC Rookie of the Year honors in 2013. She was on the first team her final two years after making the second team as a sophomore. Brady was NESCAC Co-Player of the Year as a senior.
