Bethel College (KS) names Adam Esses Head Women’s Basketball Coach

Bethel College Athletic Director Kent Allshouse has announced the hiring of Adam Esses as head coach for the Thresher women’s basketball program.

Adam Esses comes to Bethel from Kaskaskia College, a two-year school in Centralia, Illinois, where he has been head women’s basketball coach and athletic director since 2014. Before that, he was assistant women’s basketball coach at Upper Iowa University, Fayette, 2010-14.

Esses is a 2008 graduate of Bethany College, Lindsborg, with a B.A. in secondary math education. He earned his M.S.Ed. in mathematics/science education from the University of Nebraska-Kearney, where he was also a graduate assistant coach for women’s basketball.

“I am so excited to join the Thresher athletic department,” Esses said. “I would like to thank Dr. White [Bethel president] and Mr. Allshouse for the opportunity. I am looking forward to returning to the KCAC and building a successful program.”

“Bringing in someone like Adam, who possesses such passion and energy, is tremendous for the women’s program and the campus as well,” Allshouse said. “Adam has that perfect blend of experience and youthfulness that will enable him to put together a quality product on the floor each night. I look forward to witnessing the great things he will accomplish here at Bethel.”
