Erin Dickerson Davis announced the hiring of Graceann Bennett to the William & Mary women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach on Tuesday.
Bennett joins the Tribe following a successful college career at Georgetown and one year playing professionally overseas.
“I could not be more excited to welcome Graceann Bennett to William & Mary as our new assistant coach. I had the wonderful privilege of recruiting Grace to Georgetown, where she led with passion and purpose both on and off the court,” said Davis.
“Her experience playing professionally in Greece, combined with her deep understanding of the student-athlete experience at high academic schools makes her an incredible asset to our program. I know she will bring the same leadership, work ethic, and heart to our sidelines that she brought to the hardwood.”
Bennett, a native of Lake George, N.Y., started every game in her last two seasons with the Hoyas, and averaged a career-high 9.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in her final year of 2023-24. Overall, she played in 132 games and made 117 starts for Georgetown in her career, averaging 7.3 points and 5.7 rebounds.
The 6-foot-1 forward posted 43 performances in double figures during that time, including a career-high 20 against Butler in 2023-24. She also grabbed double-digit rebounds 11 times during her career with the Hoyas.
Following the completion of her college career, Bennett spent the 2024-25 season playing professionally for GS Esperides Kalliotheas in the Greece A1 League. She posted impressive numbers in her 27 games, averaging a double-double of 13.6 points and 11.4 rebounds.
Bennett had 12 double-doubles and snagged 14-plus boards on eight occasions during her time in Greece.
