Belles Basketball adds Lauren Davis to staff

Angelo State head women’s basketball coach Nate Harris has announced the hiring of a new assistant coach, Lauren Davis, to the coaching staff.

Davis comes to Angelo State after working on staff at the University of Saint Mary as a graduate assistant. Davis played at several different universities as a player, starting at Trinidad State Junior College from 2012-13, Gillette College for the 2013-14, and finishing her playing career at Wayne State College from 2014-2016.

While at the University of Saint Mary, Davis was responsible for fundraising, planning community outreach, and recruiting. Before Saint Mary, Davis worked at Montana State University as an intern in Strength and Conditioning and was responsible for attending and assisting in creating workouts for Bobcats WBB team, Nordic and Alpine Skiing, Golf, and Cheer.

Coach Harris had this to say about working with Davis, “We are so excited to add Lauren to our staff. First and foremost, she is a tremendous person and she will make a huge, positive impact on all of our student athletes. She is a great relationship builder and we will be counting on her to be heavily involved in all that we are doing from the very start. Adding people the quality of Lauren is our next step in taking this program to the next level, we couldn’t be happier that she is joining us.”

“Words can’t describe my level of excitement to join the Women’s Basketball Program, and be a part of the San Angelo Community. I am so fortunate to be given the opportunity to work under Coach Harris, and learn from him. I look forward to what this year brings for our young women, and the success we will have as a program”, said Davis.
