Baruch College Alum Michael Kotrozos Returns as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

Michael Kotrozos has been named an assistant coach for the women’s basketball team, it was announced today by Director of Athletics & Recreation Heather MacCulloch.

“I am pleased to have Mike come back as a member of our women’s basketball staff,” said MacCulloch. “Mike brings a wealth of experience that can only enhance our program even more. Mike has a solid network base and we will look to him to recruit quality student-athletes to the program, growing it to deepen our bench.”

The Baruch alum will be serving his second stint as assistant coach after previously working with the team during the 2014-15 season. He graduated in 1997 with a degree in psychology and played four years (1993-’97) for the men’s basketball team.

Kotrozos brings plenty of coaching experience to the program, which includes stops at Hunter College, where he worked for the men’s and women’s basketball teams. He started at Hunter in 2007 as an assistant to the men’s team and later combined duties with the women’s team during the 2009-’11 seasons. He was promoted to Associate Head Coach of the women’s team in 2012-’13.

He also spent one year on the coaching staff at Division I Wagner College in Staten Island.

“There is no place like home and home is where the heart is,” said Kotrozos. “I am glad to be back and to help restore the program to prominence.”

“It is with great pleasure to have Mike back on staff with us,” said fourth year Head Coach KellyAnn Barrett. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our staff and program. I am really excited and looking forward to working with Mike again.”
