Charleston Southern women’s basketball head coach Tim Hays has announced the hiring of Kailie Quinn as the program’s fourth and final assistant coach ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.
“We are extremely excited about adding Kailie to our coaching staff here at CSU,” said Coach Hays. “I have been following Kailie’s career from her days as a four-year starter and record-breaking shooter at Weber State. Beyond her playing career, she has proven to be a tremendous coach and leader and is passionate about serving others. Tactically, She will be a huge contributor in developing schemes and systems to maximize our efficiency on the court. Kailie will also be a great fit as a development coach working with individual players to build their game.”
Quinn joins the CSU staff following two seasons at Utah State University, where she most recently served as an assistant coach and offensive coordinator after spending the previous season as the program’s video coordinator and analytics specialist.
During her time at Utah State, Quinn helped shape the program’s vision, standards, culture, and competitive identity while working closely with Division I student-athletes both on and off the court. As offensive coordinator, she designed and implemented an offensive system centered on pace, spacing, decision-making, player strengths, and team-first execution. She also led opponent scouting, film breakdown, analytics, statistical analysis, and game-plan preparation.
Quinn’s work with player development focused particularly on perimeter players, utilizing individualized skill work, film study, performance feedback, and confidence-building to help student-athletes reach their potential. She also played an integral role in recruiting, evaluating prospective student-athletes through high school, grassroots, and transfer portal channels while building relationships with recruits and their families.
Prior to becoming an assistant coach, Quinn served as Utah State’s video coordinator and analytics specialist during the 2024-25 season. She directed video and analytics operations using Sportscode, Synergy, HDI, and customized reporting systems while translating film, lineup data, play efficiency, and opponent tendencies into actionable strategies for the coaching staff and student-athletes.
Quinn arrived at Utah State after spending three years at Westminster University from 2021-24. As an assistant coach, she led recruiting, talent evaluation, player development, scouting, practice preparation, and system implementation while also managing team operations, travel, recruiting visits, and other day-to-day responsibilities.
Her coaching career also includes a stint at Dixie State University, where she served as an assistant coach and director of operations, and Grand Canyon University, where she was a graduate assistant women’s basketball coach. At both programs, Quinn contributed to recruiting, scouting, player development, analytics, operations, and academic support.
A relationship-centered coach, Quinn emphasizes servant leadership and developing student-athletes academically, athletically, personally, and spiritually. Her coaching philosophy is rooted in character, integrity, accountability, humility, and service, with an emphasis on helping young women discover their purpose, build confidence, overcome adversity, and become leaders beyond basketball.

I’m looking forward to serving this community both on and off the court, and helping create a program that our university and community can be proud of. I truly believe God opened this door for a reason, and I’m honored to begin this next chapter as a Buccaneer.”
Quinn began her collegiate coaching career at Grand Canyon University, a Christian university, and earned her Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Sports Marketing from GCU in 2022. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing with a minor in Sports Coaching from Weber State University in 2018, where she was a four-year member of the women’s basketball program, starter, and team captain.
Quinn brings extensive experience in recruiting, offensive system design, player development, scouting, analytics, NCAA compliance, academic support, and team operations to the Buccaneers program.
