I can confirm that Chenel Harris-Smith is no longer the women’s basketball coach at Colby College. Word on the street is that she will take a prep school job which would allow her to be closer to her husband Sean Smith who just became the girls basketball coach at Masters Academy International (MA).
Harris-Smith had spent the past seven years at Colby where she went 71-76 (.483). Her best season came in 2024-25, when she led the Mules to a 15-11 (7-3) mark, and advanced to the NESCAC Championship game. This past year, her squad finished 13-11 (3-7 NESCAC).
Prior to her time at Colby, Harris-Smith was an assistant at Arkansas, Stony Brook, and Binghamton.
