George Mason women’s basketball head coach Vanessa Blair-Lewis has announced the addition of former Patriot Khamya McNeal as the program’s newest graduate assistant.

McNeal returns to Fairfax after helping the Patriots capture the program’s first Atlantic 10 Championship and earn the first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history during the 2024-25 season.

She recorded a season-high eight points against UMass and dished out a season-high five assists while adding eight rebounds in a win over Mount St. Mary’s. During the Patriots’ run to the Atlantic 10 Championship, McNeal scored seven points, including four free throws, and added two steals in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinal victory over Saint Louis.

Prior to joining George Mason, McNeal spent three seasons at Stetson, where she appeared in all 89 games from 2021-24 and made 34 starts. She averaged 9.2 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game as a senior in 2023-24 after posting a career-best 10.9 points per game during the 2022-23 season. She scored in double figures 34 times during her Stetson career and finished with 734 career points.

McNeal began her collegiate career at Syracuse, appearing in three games as a true freshman during the 2020-21 season.

A native of Milwaukee, Wis., McNeal starred at Rufus King High School after beginning her prep career at Shorewood High School. She averaged 18.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists as a senior while leading Rufus King to consecutive conference championships in 2019 and 2020. McNeal earned Milwaukee City Gold Player of the Year honors and was named Third Team All-State, First Team All-Conference and Team MVP following her senior season.

As a graduate assistant, McNeal will assist the coaching staff with day-to-day operations, player development, scouting and other administrative responsibilities as George Mason prepares for the 2026-27 season.
