Kaitlyn Keathley has joined the Bellarmine University women’s basketball staff as the director of basketball operations, head coach Monique Reid announced Friday.
Keathley arrives at Bellarmine after spending the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach at Division II Mississippi College. Prior to her year with the Choctaws, she was an assistant coach at D2’s Cameron University in Lawton, Oklahoma, in 2024-25.
“Kaitlyn brings tremendous energy to the team, and we’re excited to have her on board,” Reid said.
Before entering the collegiate coaching ranks, Keathley served as a graduate assistant in academic advising at her alma mater, Morehead State University, where the native of Pikeville, Kentucky, holds a bachelor’s degree in university studies and a master’s degree in sports management.
Following a standout career at Prestonburg (Ky.) High School, Keathley competed for two seasons at Presbyterian College (2019-21) in South Carolina before suiting up for Morehead State in the 2021-22 campaign, when she was recognized on the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
“I’m super excited to be joining Coach Reid’s coaching staff,” Keathley said. “Getting the chance to learn from a coach who’s competed at the highest levels all over the world is going to push me to be my best. I’m grateful to Coach Reid and the Bellarmine administration for believing in me.
“Returning to Kentucky to coach at one of the most respected universities in the Commonwealth is a real blessing. I’m looking forward to bringing my strengths as a coach to an already amazing staff and helping our student-athletes reach their potential both on and off the court. I’m fired up for the challenge of competing in the ASUN and can’t wait to work alongside Coach Mo and this great group of players, coaches and support staff.”
In high school, Keathley was a four-year starter and three-time captain over a career in which she amassed over 1,400 points, 500 rebounds, 400 assists and 350 steals. As a senior, the guard averaged 17.8 points, 5.1 assists and 6.5 rebounds while being named third-team All-State along with All-Region, All-District, first-team All-Mountain and first-team East Kentucky Broadcasting All-Region.
In total, Keathley was a three-time All-District selection while twice earning All-Region and All-Mountain accolades. In addition to basketball, she was a five-time track and field/cross country regional champion who earned Academic All-State honors for track and field in 2017.
“I’m eager to get on campus and meet our fans, make a positive impact with our athletes and be part of the Bellarmine community,” Keathley said. “Louisville is a special place, and I’m ready to help Coach Mo win big and bring championships to Bellarmine University. It’s an exciting time to be a part of Bellarmine Women’s Basketball!”
