Nagle steps down as Women’s Basketball Coach at D3 Nichols College

Nichols College announced today that Head Women’s Basketball Coach Dan Nagle is stepping down from his position.

Nagle’s tenure was marked by significant achievements, including leading the Bison to their winningest season in 16 years (13-12 overall) during the 2024-25 campaign.

“We sincerely thank Coach Nagle for his commitment and leadership,” said Interim Director of Athletics Kristan Mallet. “His impact was instrumental, particularly in raising the level of success and competitiveness.”

Under Nagle’s direction, the team developed a dynamic, high-pressure style of play that resulted in the Bison with three NCAA Division III Statistical Winners in 2024; Scoring Offense (84.6 PPG), Turnover Margin (20.0) and, Steals per Game (22.4).

Nagle coached five All-Conference honorees, including Abrianna Vazquez ’25, who became the first player in program and conference history to surpass 2,000 career points.

Ava Limonciello will immediately serve as Interim Head Coach. Nichols College will begin a search for the next Head Women’s Basketball Coach in spring 2026.
