Emporia State women’s basketball coach Brian Ostermann has announced that he is stepping down as the head coach of the Lady Hornets.
“At this time, I have decided to pursue opportunities at the Division I level and wish the Lady Hornets success in the future,” said Ostermann. “I’d like to thank President Hush, David Spafford and Steve Rodecap for their tremendous leadership. I enjoyed my two years in Emporia, particularly the past semester with this team. I want to thank our players and staff for everything and wish them the best.”
Ostermann went 24-35 in his two years as the head coach of the Lady Hornets. Emporia State was 10-19 this past season with a 5-14 record in MIAA play.
“We want to thank Coach Ostermann for his service to Emporia State and Hornet Athletics,” said Emporia State Athletic Director David Spafford. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors”.
A national search for the next Lady Hornet basketball coach will begin immediately.
