LaGrange College announces Lane-Frazier as new Women’s Basketball Head Coach

LaGrange College Athletics announced that Destiny Lane-Frazier has been hired as the next head coach of the Panthers Women’s Basketball Team. 

Known as Coach D, she most recently served as the assistant coach and team strength and conditioning coach for the Berry College Women’s Basketball Team. While with the Vikings, BC achieved a 36-20 (18-9 SAA) record. 

Prior to joining the Berry staff, she was the WBB head coach at Sylacauga High School (Sylacauga, Ala.). During the 2020-21 season, the team advanced to the subregion, which led to Coach D being named the Talladega County Girls Coach of the Year.

From 2019-2020, she was an assistant coach at Spain Park High School (Hoover, Ala.). During her time with the Jaguars, the team won a 7A State Championship. 

As a basketball player, her talents took her to Jacksonville State University, where she was a four-year starter and team captain. In high school, she made the All-State Team three years and finished in the 2,000 Point Club (Ashville, Ala.).

Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Jacksonville State University, a Master’s of Science in Secondary Education in Physical Education from Samford University and a Master’s of Science in Sports Management from Jacksonville State University.

Coach D believes in building the whole student-athlete, fostering success on and off the court, and teaching life lessons through the game of basketball. She is dedicated to helping her team achieve success by leading them, building strong relationships, and guiding student-athletes to reach their full potential and achieve their goals by pushing them to be their best, give their best and strive for excellence.
