The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach will assist the Head Coach in the planning, recruiting, coaching, developing, implementing, communication and administering of his/her program to achieve University and Department objectives and fulfill teaching duties within the Kinesiology Department. Goals and objectives are to be developed prior to the beginning of each season with the Head Coach. The successful candidate will exhibit behavior that enhances the respect for the student-athletes, the athletics program, the University, and yourself in the conduct of your professional responsibilities. This position is required to assist in the direction and control of the program in accordance with NCAA, WIAC, and University rules and regulations. Violation of University, NCAA or Conference rules on the part of Athletic Department personnel may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.

The Lecturer portion of this position will teach undergraduate courses supporting the Physical Education Teacher Education program, the Athletic Coaching Education minor, and/or the Human Performance major. This position may supervise student field study and/or student teaching placements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master’s Degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Sport & Recreation Administration or a related field by time start of contract date.
  2. Successful women’s basketball coaching experience required.
  3. Excellent written and oral skills, knowledge of computer applications and software packages, and organizational abilities.
  4. Must be able to work weekends/evenings and travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Three years teaching experience (K-12) in Physical Education, Health Education, or a related field and WI teaching license.

  1. Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
  2. Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations, including necessary training and drills.
