Description:
Upper Iowa University invites applications for a Graduate Assistant Coach in Women’s Basketball. This is a 10-month position beginning in August 2024. Compensation for the position includes a monthly stipend of $1,000 and tuition remission. The Graduate Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Upper Iowa University reports directly to the Head Women’s Basketball Coach and is responsible for assisting in the planning, directing, and evaluating all aspects and facets of a successful Women’s Basketball program on the NCAA Division II level.
Position Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Recruitment of highly skilled and academically qualified student-athletes, monitoring academic progress and eligibility and effectively analyzing and teaching the fundamentals skills and strategies of the sport.
  • Plan, organize, conduct, and evaluate practice sessions along with developing, implementing, and evaluating game plans and strategies.
  • Serve as a leader, mentor, and role model to the student-athletes of the program.
  • Oversee administrative processes and procedures as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with all Department, University, NCAA, and GLVC policies, procedures, and regulations.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must be admitted into a graduate program at Upper Iowa University and maintain a Grade Point Average of 3.0. Applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree. The applicant should have at least two of experience in girl’s/women’s organized basketball (collegiate, AAU, high school, etc.) Must have an understanding of NCAA rules and regulations.
