North Carolina Central released the following statement on the status of WBB Head Coach Tricia Stafford-Odom:

North Carolina Central University (NCCU) has released women’s basketball head coach Trisha Stafford-Odom from her contract, effective Sept. 13, 2023.

An interim head coach for the 2023-24 season will be announced at a later date. Assistant coach Terrence Baxter will remain on staff to continue program operations and maintain continuity with the student-athletes.

A national search will be conducted to identify the next full-time women’s basketball head coach. 

Stafford-Odom went 55-108 (.337) in six seasons at NCCU, including a 15-16 (8-6) mark last season.

No reason was given for her release.
