The Keystone College Department of Athletics has hired Jason Rhine ’12 as head women’s basketball coach, announced on Monday.
Rhine joins the Giants after serving as the head coach at Misericordia University for seven seasons from 2016 until 2023, compiling a record of 119-56 (.680 winning percentage), going 65-29 in MAC Freedom play, guiding the Cougars to the playoffs in all seven years.
Misericordia advanced to five semifinals and one finals under Rhine, going 18-8 (11-5 MAC Freedom) in 2022-23.
“I cannot wait to get started at Keystone,” expressed Rhine. “The opportunity to return to my alma mater is a dream come true.”
“I look forward to building a highly respected Division III program on and off the court. Go Giants!”
Rhine inherits a Keystone program that has made the postseason the last four years, winning the team’s first-ever CSAC title in 2019-20. The Giants finished 11-15 (10-8 CSAC) in 2022-23.
Prior to Misericordia, Rhine was an assistant coach at Aurora University, Washington & Jefferson College and served as a graduate assistant coach at California University of Pennsylvania for two years. Rhine played at Keystone from 2008-2010 before starting his collegiate coaching career from 2010-12 with the Giants.
A native of Palmyra, Pennsylvania, Rhine graduated from Keystone in 2012 with a degree in sport management before earning his master’s from California University of Pennsylvania.
