Alabama’s Roman Tubner has been named associate head coach and recruiting coordinator, head women’s basketball coach Kristy Curry announced Thursday.
The 2022-23 season marked the conclusion of Tubner’s second season with the Crimson Tide. While with Alabama, the program posted back-to-back 20-win seasons and reached the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three years this past season.

- One of the top recruiters in the country, helping to bring in one of UA’s best recruiting classes in the program history
- Class includes a five-star recruit, two four-star recruits and three transfer student-athletes
- The incoming class was ranked No. 12 nationally by ESPNW’s early signing period
- UA was one of the top three-point shooting teams in the country
- Posted 15-or-more three pointers four times during the 2022-23 season, including a program-record 17 against North Florida (Dec. 22)
- Joined the UA staff in 2021 after accumulating 10 years of experience as an assistant coach
- Recorded coaching stints at Ball State (2020-21), UNC-Wilmington (2019-20), Indiana State (2018-19), Austin Peay State (2017-18) and Arkansas Tech (2014-17)
- Started coaching career at Arkansas at Monticello, after being promoted from a graduate assistant to an assistant coach
- A 2011 graduate of Centenary College where he was a two-year starter and team captain
