Job Summary: The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach assists the Head Women’s Coach in directing all activities of the women’s basketball program within NCAA, LSC, TAMUK, and TAMUS policies, guidelines, and procedures. The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for maintaining high academic standards to support the academic development and graduation of student-athletes while focused on student-athlete welfare; assisting in successfully directing the women’s basketball program to compete for LSC and NCAAII championships; assisting in the recruitment of student-athletes and maintaining a culture of personal accountability in student-athlete conduct; assisting in the planning and direction of all practices, travel, and game activities; assisting, as delegated by the Women’s Head Basketball Coach, in preparing and managing the administrative functions of the women’s basketball program; and assisting in community engagement and donor relations by promoting the women’s basketball program within the priorities of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution; One (1) year of college and/or high school coaching experience; Valid driver’s license; Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, public relations, interpersonal, customer service and supervisory skills; Strong communication skills, positive mental attitude, and the ability to effectively work well with students, parents, coaches, staff and faculty while possessing a commitment to high academic standards.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution; NCAA recruiting experience; NCAA recruiting certification, CPR, First Aid, AED; Prior NCAA coaching experience. |
