The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for the position of Director of Scouting and Video Services to support the Women’s Basketball program.

The Director of Scouting and Video Services position exists to oversee the scouting and video service needs of the Women’s Basketball program. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: managing the entire scouting process of opponents and performing extensive analysis; preparing individual player clips and stat sheets; quantifying player performance after games for review by coaches; supporting recruiting efforts and visitations; overseeing the production of specialized training tapes as needed and the fulfillment of opponent film acquisition; ensuring video footage conforms to NCAA, ACC, and institutional policies and procedures; providing assistance with student-athlete academic needs; as other projects when required.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
Experience: Some prior experience in video breakdown and analysis of basketball student-athletes is required. Preferred experience includes some experience working for a Division I athletics program, basketball experience at the collegiate or professional level, and prior experience with opponent scouting.

Computer Applications: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and video equipment and programs. Knowledge of Synergy software is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to comprehend potential issues and to address them successfully. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability and desire to perform, accurate, detail-oriented work, and manage multi tasks simultaneously. Ability to function professionally in fast-paced, highly stressful situations when delivering exemplary customer service to all constituencies. Ability to make administrative or procedural decisions and to practice sound judgment. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to provide clear information on an impromptu basis. Strong organizational and computer skills with the ability to maintain informational systems.

Knowledge of NCAA and ACC rules and regulations is strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
