Randolph-Macon head women’s basketball coach Lindsey Burke has announced the addition of Allison Spaschak as an assistant coach.
“I am so excited to be joining the Randolph-Macon College women’s basketball program,” Spaschak said. “Thank you to Coach Burke and Athletic Director Jeff Burns for entrusting me to help continue the success of the reigning ODAC champions! The success of the entire athletic department here at R-MC speaks for itself and I can’t wait to get on campus and join the Yellow Jacket tradition of excellence!”
For the past two seasons, Spaschak was an assistant coach at The College of Brockport. She was responsible for backcourt play, including individual and small group workout planning and in-game substitutions. Spaschak worked with Julianna Taylor, a 2020 All-SUNYAC selection. Spaschak completed and presented most of the scouting reports, assisted with recruiting, oversaw team marketing and branding, and created a social media calendar.
“I am thrilled to have Allison joining our Yellow Jacket staff,” Burke said. “She stood out immediately in the interview process because of her natural presence and energy. She is a natural leader and motivator – our program is lucky to have her!”
Earlier this year, Spaschak served as an adjunct professor at Brockport for a three-credit course on Advanced Basketball.
A native of Manahawkin, N.J., Spaschak earned a Master of Education in Athletic Administration from Brockport earlier this month after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Media from Ithaca College in May of 2018 with a double minor in Sport Psychology and Coaching.
A four-year member of the Ithaca women’s basketball team, Spaschak helped the Bombers reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament three times. The Bombers were Empire 8 Champions in 2017. Spaschak was a three-year member of Ithaca’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
During her senior year, Spaschak was a student assistant in the Athletic Communications Office at Ithaca. She assisted with social media, statistics, and video for home athletic events.
