“As we began the process to look for a new head coach, we knew we wanted a confident leader, a mentor, a student of the game and we found that coach. Megan is an energetic leader with proven knowledge and style of the game that fits SUNY Cobleskill well. I am excited to watch our program blossom under her tutelage.”

A native of Dannemora, N.Y., Bowman comes to the Fighting Tigers after compiling a three-year record at New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Section II Foothills Council member Scotia-Glenville High School of 46-19 from the 2016 thru 2019. A three-sport standout at Saranac High School in: soccer, basketball and golf. Bowman was a four-year varsity basketball standout while earning All-State NYSPHSAA honors in both soccer and basketball during her prep career graduating in 2011.

Upon high school graduation, she joined the Gators of The Sage Colleges where, playing the point guard position, she earned All-Skyline Conference honors three times during her playing career scoring over 1000 points and establishing herself as the program’s all-time assist leader. Also during her tenure with the Gators; she led Sage to the 2013-14 Skyline Conference Championship the college’s first league title and NCAA Division III Championship Tournament Bid in school history. During the team’s title run, she was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Skyline Conference Championship Tournament for 2013-14.

She graduated from Sage with Bachelor’s Degree in Law and Society in 2015 and is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Sports Management from SUNY Cortland.
When asked about her new position and what the future will hold for the Fighting Tigers, Coach Bowman was grateful, optimistic and enthusiastic.

“I am extremely grateful to Marie Curran-Headley and the search committee for this opportunity,” said the new Fighting Tiger mentor. “I am excited to have inherited such a hardworking, talented and bright group of young women along with an extremely dedicated and supportive coaching staff. I plan to build off the program’s foundation and the values of the Cobleskill community to ensure the success of our student-athletes.”
