Alyssa Rushton Named NDSU Women’s Basketball Director of Operations

North Dakota State women’s basketball head coach Jory Collins has announced the hiring of Alyssa Rushton as the director of operations.

Rushton spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at North Dakota State College of Science. She assisted with scouting and recruitment of student-athletes, while also assisting in the coordination of team travel arrangements. Rushton was in charge of all postgame meals for players and staff.

“I am excited to add Alyssa to our staff,” Collins said. “She came highly recommended from several coaches I respect. She has a great background in both playing and coaching at different levels. Alyssa’s personality and experiences will really help us stay organized with our day-to-day operations. I’m really looking forward to working with her.”

Rushton spent the 2016-17 season as an assistant coach at Pratt Community College. While at Pratt, Rushton’s duties included individual workouts, travel coordinator, recruiting and opponent scouting.

“I am very excited to be named the director of operations at NDSU,” Rushton said. “I am so grateful for the opportunity that Jory Collins has given me and look forward to being a part of the Bison Family.”

Rushton was a graduate assistant in sports information at Augustana from 2014-15 and worked for the NCAA Championships in Sioux Falls in 2015.

On the floor, Rushton played at Kansas City Kansas Community College from 2009-2011 and at the University of Sioux Falls from 2011-2013. Rushton started all 27 games as a senior at Sioux Falls, averaging 10 points a game and grabbing 117 rebounds. She was an All-Jayhawk Conference Second Team selection both years at KCKCC, earning team MVP honors in both seasons as well. She also played in the NJCAA All-Star game while at KCKCC.
