The University of Dayton Athletics Department and Vice-President for Athletics Neil Sullivan have announced the extension of women’s basketball head coach Shauna Green’s contract.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed, but extends the contract to 2024.
“Shauna has done an outstanding job leading our women’s basketball program. We share a mutual commitment to long-term success in women’s basketball,” UD Athletic Director Neil Sullivan said. “Extending our partnership affirms our common vision of graduating student-athletes, winning conference championships and competing in the NCAA Tournament.”
“I am blessed and extremely grateful for the belief that Neil and President Spina have in me. I look forward to building on the past two successful seasons and continuing our relentless pursuit at being elite. Dayton is a very special place and I am honored to be the leader here.”
Green was the Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year this past season after being named WBCA National Rookie Coach of the Year in 2017. She was also recently named to the Dayton Business Journal Forty Under 40 list. She has a record of 45-17 in two seasons at UD and boasts a .726 winning percentage, which ranks second all-time in program history. The Flyers have made the NCAA Division I Tournament in both seasons with Coach Green in charge and have won three Atlantic 10 Championships in that span: two regular season and one tournament title.
