Georgia State Director of Athletics Charlie Cobb announced on Wednesday that the contract of head women’s basketball coach Sharon Baldwin will not be renewed.
Georgia State recently finished the 2017-18 season with an 8-22 mark and 10th-place finish in the Sun Belt Conference with a 4-14 mark.
In eight years with the Panthers, Baldwin compiled a record of 88-152.
“I have a great deal of respect for Sharon and what she has meant to Georgia State,” Cobb said. “However, at this time we feel a change is necessary. I would like to thank Sharon and her staff for everything they have done for our program over the years and wish them all the best of luck in the future.”
A national search for Baldwin’s replacement will begin immediately.
