Messiah College head coach Mike Miller picked up his 600th career win with the #21 Falcons 76-62 win over Eastern University earlier this week. Miller became the 15th coach in NCAA Division III history to reach 600 wins, and also the sixth active coach to reach the mark.

His 600-233 career record is impressive, but pales in comparison to what he’s done most recently: over the last 18 years, Messiah has reached the NCAA National Tournament 16 times, while Miller has racked up an overall 418-97 record, equating to an incredible .812 winning percentage. Miller has led his Falcons to 17 total NCAA Tournament berths over his tenure.

Miller has garnered a variety of awards for his coaching prowess, being named Commonwealth Coach of the Year in 1994-1995, 1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2002-2003, 2006-2007, 2007-2008, and 2016-17. He was named the NCAA Middle Atlantic Region Coach of the Year in 2002-2003, while Messiah has become a staple in the post-season: The Falcons made it to the second round in 1995-96, 1999-00, 2001-02, 2003-04, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2008-09, ’2009-10, 2011-12, and 2013-14, while making it to the “Sweet 16” in 2004-05 and 2012-13. The program qualified to the “Elite 8” in 2003-04, while the 2007-08 season served as a bookend to the team’s only other trip to the Final Four in 2000-01.
