Zach Wilde Named Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Columbia Basin College

Columbia Basin College Athletic Director Scott Rogers announced the hiring of Zach Wilde as the new head women’s basketball coach. Wilde takes the reins of the storied women’s basketball program at CBC following a successful two-year stint as the associate head coach at Everett CC, leading the team to a pair of NWAC postseason appearances. He also earned Coach of the Year honors while at Mountlake High School in Mountlake Terrace, WA, leading the team during 2013-15.

“We couldn’t be more excited to have Zach on board,” said Scott Rogers. “Zach brings a wealth of knowledge and success within the NWAC as a student-athlete and coach. He has strong character, is passionate about the sport, and carries a deep commitment to providing a quality student-athlete experience.”

Wilde arrives with a tremendous track record of success as a player and coach. After a stellar career at Snohomish High School, he played one season at Clackamas CC for legendary coach Cliff Wegner, going 29-3 and winning the 2009 NWAC Championship. Wilde then received a scholarship to the University of Hawaii at Hilo under then head coach Jeff Law. Wilde started all three years for the Vulcans, earning Honorable mention his senior year and leaving as the schools 2nd all team leader in rebounds.

“Firstly, I would like to thank Mr. Scott Rogers and the CBC community for this opportunity to work at a first-class institution,” said Coach Wilde. “I am very excited to be able to come into such a successful program, one that has set the bar very high. CBC has some of the best available resources of any of the schools in the NWAC, and I cannot wait to get started. CBC is such a unique and great place, that getting to call it our home gym is an honor. I hope to bring back championship caliber programs that Coach Holden had done previously.”

“I would also like to thank the players and staff at Everett CC for everything they have given to me. I especially want to thank Coach Hovde and Coach Amrine, Sue Snow, and Larry Walker.”

Wilde earned a Bachelors of Arts in Administration of Justice and Communications from the University of Hawaii at Hilo in 2011, and also a Masters of Business Administration from City University in 2015.
