Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking applicants for Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach to assist in the coaching and training of student-athletes at the NCAA Division I level in the sport of women’s basketball to prepare them for competition in local, regional and national arenas.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting in recruitment of qualified student-athletes, including recruitment of international student-athletes;
• Assisting in coaching and training of student-athletes at the NCAA Division I level to prepare them for competition in local, regional and national arenas;
• Assisting with maintenance of accurate files of current and prospective student-athletes;
• Assisting with maintenance of required NCAA, A-10, and University paperwork;
• Assisting with evaluation of prospective student-athletes;
• Assisting with travel involved with recruitment, games/matches, and tournaments;
• Assisting with monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes;
• Video analysis and scouting of opponents; and
• Promoting execution of the Athletic Department’s strategic plan by adhering to its mission and core values and acting upon its goals and strategies.
