Responsible to the athletic director to develop and maintain a highly competitive women’s JV and varsity basketball program within rules and regulations of the institution, the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III, and perform additional athletic department duties.

1. Responsible for the overall management, leadership and execution of the basketball intercollegiate program.
2. Plan, organize, and manage all phases of the basketball program; to include:
   • development and implementation of game strategy/techniques and position assignments individually with student athletes and in groups
   • teaching student-athlete skill development and mental/motivating techniques for competition
   • scheduling and supervision of practice and game sessions
   • recruiting student-athletes
   • monitoring and maintaining the discipline and conduct of student athletes to support the image and reputation of the athletics program
3. Develop and supervise:
   • assistant coaches, if assigned
   • a strength and conditioning program in collaboration with the Strength and Conditioning staff/coaches
   • fund raising activities for the basketball program
   • basketball camps and clinics, including budget management
4. Develop and manage the basketball program budget in collaboration with the associate athletics director of business affairs.
5. Attend staff development opportunities and coaches meetings.
6. Follow the mission and beliefs of the athletic department and Central College.
7. Consistently demonstrate a positive team player attitude.
8. Must be open and adaptable to change.
9. Must work cooperatively and respectfully with a variety of campus groups.
10. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in related field
• Three to five years coaching experience.
• Ability to travel; night and week-end work required
