To assist Head Coach in coaching, recruiting, counseling, conditioning and training an intercollegiate basketball team. Reports to Head Basketball Coach.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
· Assist in coaching an intercollegiate basketball team; utilize coaching and teaching methods to develop student athletes’ skills and teamwork.

· Assist with the development of game strategy; analyze performance of student athletes; scout opponents.

· Scout and recruit student athletes.

· Assist in fund raising activities to subsidize the basketball program; may assist in marketing and public relations activities to promote the program; perform community relations activities.

· Counsel and advise student athletes with personal and academic problems.

· Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and two to three years experience coaching basketball. Or a combination of education and coaching experience equivalent to a total of six years.

Knowledge Of:
· National Collegiate Athletics Association and Mid-American Conference rules and regulations. *

Skill In:
· Training or instructing student athletes; interpersonal communication. *

Ability To:
· Analyze situations and develop solutions. *
· Travel and work non-traditional hours. *
