The Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, reports to the Head Coach and assists student athletes to achieve their fullest potential while instilling the importance of academic achievements at the Division I level. Assists in the overall administration of the women’s basketball program; and assists with the coordination of the program relative to scouting, recruiting, equipment control, game strategy, travel plans, budgets, awards, and relevant fundraising and public relations events. Establishes and maintains a nationally competitive intercollegiate women’s basketball team in the Big Ten Conference and the NCAA; develops, teaches, and instructs the student-athletes in the proper rules of competition, conditioning, skills, and techniques; and maintains thorough and continual familiarity with all applicable University, Big Ten, and NCAArules and regulations. Organizes and conducts practices and competitions at a high level of efficiency; analyzes individual and team basketball statistics to assess areas of improvement; motivates the student-athletes, and monitors athletes’ progress toward successfully obtaining a degree. Assists the Head Coach to advise potential student-athletes on admission requirements, procedures, and eligibility guidelines for participation in intercollegiate athletics; and completes additional duties as assigned consistent with the mission, vision, and role of Rutgers Athletics and the Women’s Basketball program.
