The Head Women’s Basketball Coach is responsible for the overall organization, direction, supervision and administration of Mansfield University’s NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball program. Duties include: recruiting student athletes within the rules and philosophy of the NCAA, Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and Mansfield University; emphasizing academic priorities to student athletes; organizing/conducting practices and games; recruiting, directing, supervising, and evaluating assistant coaches; fundraising; marketing and promotion; game management; performing related administrative tasks; and maintaining appropriate communication with students, other coaches, University staff, parents, and alumni. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach will be expected to work closely with the Office of Admissions in the recruitment of qualified students to Mansfield University and perform related administrative tasks and additional duties as assigned.

Must be able to demonstrate a proven successful coaching system and philosophy; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to organize a comprehensive NCAA women’s basketball program; and demonstrated ability to successfully recruit student-athletes. Must be committed to a philosophy that emphasizes academic priorities for student athletes as well as the importance of good citizenship both on and off the court; demonstrate a commitment to diversity; have a general knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and be committed to their implementation and observance; possession of a valid driver’s license; and certification in CPR and First Aid within six months of the commencement of employment (current possession of these certifications preferred).
