Under minimal supervision, directs, provides leadership, and oversees all coaching duties for the Kentucky State University Intercollegiate Women’s Basketball Program, operating under NCAA operating bylaws and regulations. Directs and coordinates all aspects of recruitment and training for athletic competition, and oversees the planning and fiscal management of program activities. The University participates in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (“SIAC”)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team practices, training, and competition.
• Identify and recruit potential student-athletes for the women’s basketball program, in accordance with SIAC and NCAA rules, regulations, guidelines, and standards.
• Directs all aspects, areas and components of the Women’s Basketball team (i.e.; defense, offense, or various individual positions).
• Coordinates all strategic aspects of the Women’s Basketball program.
• Provides guidance and assistance to student-athletes on a range of issues, as required.
• Leads, monitors, and coordinates training and practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained.
• Provides coordination and administration of the overall program and schedule, as required.
• Represents the sports program to various institutional programs and externally to the media, government agencies, funding agencies, students, parents, and the general public.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
