Assistant Coach Women’s Basketball Southern Illinois University Carbondale is an NCAA Division I member of the Missouri Valley Conference. Responsibilities Identifying and recruiting quality student-athletes; assisting with the organization and conduct of practices and competitions; promoting the welfare and academic progress of student-athletes; assisting with the daily administrative duties of the program; participating in fundraising and public relations activities; assisting with summer camps; ensuring compliance of the program with University, NCAA, and MVC rules. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, thorough knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules and regulations, technical knowledge of basketball and the demonstrated ability to apply that knowledge, at least 1 academic year of collegiate coaching experience and demonstrated recruiting ability. Appointment: 12-month term, full-time, salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a security-sensitive position; the University will conduct a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a criminal background check, prior to any employment offer.
