Delaware County Community College, a two-year college located in Media, PA, is seeking a head coach to oversee its women’s basketball program.  Delaware County Community College is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference in Region 19 in the NJCAA.

The head coach is the individual charged with the responsibility for planning, programming, directing, supervising and implementing the duties and functions of the individual sports program. The head coach must work closely with all others involved in the EPAC, Region 19 and the college in carrying out the mission and objectives of the intercollegiate athletic program. The head coach is directly responsible to the Director of Wellness, Athletics & Recreation.

Duties:

The women’s basketball head coach is a part-time, contracted position and has the following responsibilities:

• Recruitment of student-athletes for the team
• Attend mandatory conference coaches meetings
• Work within the budget provided to the team
• Practice and competition management
• Conditioning programs – during the season
• Academic oversight of women’s basketball student-athletes
• Attend high school or other prep competition for recruiting purposes
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Wellness, Athletics & Recreation

Minimum Requirements

• Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Previous coaching experience with a women’s basketball program at the high school or college level

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience at the four-year or two-year college level
• Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations
• Competed as a member of a basketball program in high school or college
