Northwood University Director of Athletics Nick Davidson announced the hiring of Pam Oswald as the new women’s basketball coach.
Oswald comes from Tiffin University, where she had been the head coach for the last eight seasons. During that time, she coached three First Team All-GLIAC Selections, five Second Team All-GLIAC Selections, one Second Team All-Region Selection and six 1,000 point scorers.
In 2010-11 seasons, she led the team to a 15-12 record and made the GLIAC Tournament for the first time under her tenure. In the following season, Oswald’s team went 21-7, which was the most wins in school history, and advanced to the GLIAC Final Four.
Off the court her team maintained a team GPA of 3.2 or higher with a total of 15 GLIAC All-Excellence Selections (3.5-4.0 GPA) and 22 GLIAC All-Academic Selections (3.0-3.49).

In three years as an assistant coach at Wheeling Jesuit University, Oswald helped the Cardinals record back to back seasons of 20 wins or more (2004-06). The team captured the 2005 WVIAC Tournament Championship, while making two trips to the NCAA National tournament. She mentored three First Team All-WVIAC Selections, two Second Team All-WVIAC Selections, and one thousand point scorer.
Prior to joining the Cardinals, Oswald spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Kent State University.
At Kent State University, she was tasked with the guards and post players. While with the Golden Flashes, they won the 2002 MAC Regular Season and Tournament Championship and went on to play in the NCAA Tournament. In her last season, the team made the WNIT Tournament. Also during her time, she coached two All-Mac Conference Players.
Oswald began her coaching career as an assistant coach at her alma mater Berlin-Hiland High School for two years. During that time, she helped lead them to a perfect 28-0 record and a Division IV State Championship.
She graduated from Malone University with a bachelor’s in Communications/Broadcast. She was also a member of the basketball team and later inducted into the Malone Athletic Hall of Fame. Pam is also a member of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
