Under the direction of the Director of Athletics; will coordinate coaching and overall organization and administration of the Women’s Basketball Program. Additionally; the Head Women’s Basketball Coach/Athletic Academic Advisor will serve as an academic advisor for a portion of the student-athlete cohort is responsible for independently performing professional work of some difficulty using established policies, procedures, precedents and guidelines: does related work as required.

New Jersey City University, a NCAA Division III member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), is accepting applications for a goal oriented Women’s Head Basketball Coach reporting to the Director of Athletics.

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include, but are not limited to: organization, administration and coaching of the Women’s basketball program including supervising staff while displaying a clearly defined philosophy of coaching and teaching basketball; recruiting qualified student-athletes; and managing the budget responsibly. The Women’s Head Basketball coach serves as Athletic Academic Advisor for designated sports in the department; coordinates academic schedules; conducts academic planning and registration of student-athletes for classes; and monitors student-athletes’ academic progress. The successful candidate will work with the Athletic Director to schedule contests and practices; be committed to player development both in strength and skill; scout opponents and prepare team accordingly; be dedicated to University and NCAA, ECAC, and NJAC rules and regulations and all other aspects of directing a quality intercollegiate Women’s basketball program. The candidate must have working knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance, as well as, effective communication, leadership skills, and proven ability to positively interact with, campus community, alumni and athletics department.

In addition to directing the Women’s basketball program, the coach will conduct on-campus basketball camps and/or clinics.
