University at Buffalo Athletic Director Danny White announced a contract extension for women’s basketball head coach Felisha Legette-Jack on Thursday. With the extension, Legette-Jack will guide the Bulls through the 2018-19 season.
"Our women’s basketball program has made significant strides in two seasons under the direction of Coach Jack and her staff," said White. "Felisha is a tremendous coach and we are confident that she will continue to guide our program with poise as we build America’s next big-time college athletics brand."
Legette-Jack begins her third season at UB after coaching the Bulls to their highest-ever seed in the MAC Tournament last season. She led the Bulls to a 2013-14 record of 17-13 overall and 10-8 in the Mid-American Conference, the program’s finest showing in over 10 years. Legette-Jack improved the Bulls’ offensive output from 61.2 to 68.5 points per game over the course of two years. In her first season patrolling the sidelines of Alumni Arena, UB went 8-8 in conference play and advanced to the quarterfinals of the MAC Tournament.
"I am grateful and humbled by this opportunity to continue my work as the head coach of the women’s basketball program at the State University of New York at Buffalo," Legette-Jack said. "I would like to thank President Satish Tripathi and Athletic Director Danny White for believing in our vision as we grow this program to new found heights. Our motto is clear – Together, We Will!"
Legette-Jack and the Bulls will open the 2014-15 campaign on November 14, hosting Siena.
