Holly Borchers has been named head women’s basketball coach at Florida Southern College. She replaces Jarrod Olson, who resigned after six seasons at FSC to become the head women’s basketball coach at California Baptist. Borchers was Olson’s assistant all six seasons at FSC after both were assistants together at Creighton. At FSC, she has helped direct a program that has improved its win total each year. The Moccasins have recorded back-to-back 20-win seasons, won back-to-back regular season Sunshine State Conference titles and received back-to-back NCAA tournament bids. In her six seasons with the program, the Moccasins have compiled a 113-61 record. She becomes the sixth head coach in the history of Florida Southern women’s basketball.
She came to FSC after a four-year stint as an assistant at Creighton, where she worked with the backcourt players and was the program’s recruiting coordinator. From 1997-2001, Borchers was an assistant at Wright State in Dayton, Ohio. There she was responsible for player development, academic monitoring, recruiting, camps, and community relations.
